1 month

I can't believe my baby girl is already a month old. I don't remember the time going so quickly with Jayden.

Here are a few things that come to mind about my sweet Haddie bug. (Jayden gave her the nickname Haddie back when I was pregnant. He also calls himself Jaddie).

-You have blue eyes and brown hair.

-Everyone says you look just like Daddy..I think you do too(more so than your brother did).

-You wear newborn clothes and diapers. Pampers are getting a little snug but huggies fit just right. You may be moving up to size 3 month clothing before to long, your torso is just getting too long for the newborns. They fit in width just fine. (Your brother was the same way)

-You are sleeping pretty good. You got yourself on a pretty good schedule from day 1 and would only get up 2 times a night for a feeding. Sometime around 1 and then again at 5. Your schedule got messed up a little with the time change but you seem to be adjusting now.

-You eat 3 to 4 ounces every 3 to 4 hours. Mostly breast milk but occasionally you do have some formula.

-When you first came home you were sleeping about 20 hrs out of the day, but have started to have longer awake periods here lately. You still probably sleep about 16-18hrs out of the day.

-Your first few days home were a little rough because you were borderline jaundice and we had to take you from the hospital to the Dr's. office everyday until your numbers went down, but luckily after 2 days of that you were jaundice free.

-It took you awhile to get back up to your birth weight. At your 2 week checkup you had finally gained an ounce. 8lbs. 3 ozs.

-I think you have put on the ounces since then. We go to your one month checkup soon and we will get your stats.

- You love your paci and sometimes drive Mommy and Daddy crazy when you can't keep it in your mouth. Mainly in the middle of the night.

-Mommy has been able to get you and brother to take an afternoon nap together most days. This is very helpful for Mommy since she seems to be pretty exhausted.

-Your brother can't get enough of you. He constantly wants to kiss you and hold you. You can't keep your eyes off him whenever he is around. You two are going to be best friends.

-You are already a daddy's girl. You light up every evening when he gets home. You definitely have him wrapped around your finger.

-You seem to enjoy car rides it normally puts you into a deep sleep.

-You love to listen to your music when you are in your swing and when we are riding in the car.

-You aren't much on being rocked to sleep. You normally just want us to put you in your bed and give you a paci and turn the vibration on and you are out.

-You have a very strong neck and have been trying to lift your head and look around pretty much from day 1. You can now get up pretty high and turn from left to right.

-You are such a sweet baby and we love you to pieces.

Baby #2

The days leading up to Valentines day I had a feeling that I might be pregnant. So Jayden and I headed to the store to pick up a few cards for Daddy, chocolates, and a pregnancy test. When Josh got home that evening he had gotten Jayden and I a huge fruit arrangement from edible arrangements. It had tons of chocolate covered strawberry's, heart shaped pineapple, and grapes. It was delicious (making me have a craving as I type this). After we ate our weight in fruit I went off to take the test. A few minutes later it was revealed that we were indeed pregnant with baby #2.


Later that week I scheduled my first appt. with the nurse practitioner. At that appt. I was told that my due date was October 23rd, asked a few questions, and then I was off to have blood work done. I was feeling a little nauseous that day but not too bad but when she stuck the needle in I passed out and when I came back to I was sweating all over. The nurse said she thought I had had a small seizure, but wasn't too concerned since she let me drive myself home. This was the start to many weeks of nausea and lack of appetite.


The next appt. was with Dr. Lewis on Josh's bday. She wasn't able to pick up the heartbeat by doppler so we had our first ultrasound. Everything checked out fine and our little peanut was measuring right on target with my due date.


During the first 20 weeks of pregnancy I was extremely nauseous and could barely eat. Nothing ever sounded good and if I had a craving by the time it was in front of me I wanted nothing to do with it. During this time period I had managed to loose 12 lbs.


The big Ultrasound was scheduled for June 2, 2011. Josh and I along with Jayden and our Moms went to this appt. The baby was being very stubborn and wouldn't turn so it took the tech forever to get the pics that she needed to check the babies anatomy. Finally she was able to check the sex of the baby. It didn't take long for her to say it was A GIRL!!! I may have shed a few tears of joy. It was such a shock to me because I had thought all along that it would be a boy and I was kinda excited about it, but then when she said girl I was just filled with so much joy that I couldn't contain myself. Just for the record Josh said all along that it was a girl and he said Jayden would be a boy. I guess one day I'll learn to listen to him.


Later that same day Josh, Jayden, Josh's Mom, and I headed over to Louisville to do a little shopping. We were all pretty excited to go buy something pink. It was in that same car ride that Josh and I confirmed that we would be naming our daughter Hadley Lynae. Josh's middle name being Lynn and mine Renee so we combined them to make Lynae.


I had to schedule another ultrasound with my next regular appointment so that they could try to get a few extra shots of her heart. Unfortunately just like the time before she was extremely stubborn and never turned the right way to get those shots. Both techs were able to get views just not the ones they would regularly like. Dr. Lewis looked over them and said that everything looked perfect.


The next few appts. went well. At my 31 week appt. Dr. Lewis walked in with a bigger belly than I had. I was shocked she had never said anything about being pregnant. After discussing it with her she is due a week after me. At this appt. she discussed taking the baby at 39 weeks so that it assured us that she would deliver. At the same appt. Dr. Lewis did an exam to make sure that all the pressure issues I was having wasn't causing me to dialate but all checked out ok.


After that appt. I had some major pain in my pelvic bone, so along with pressure and this new pain I have been pretty miserable. Especially after being on my feet the whole time at work. It's a good thing I only work 2 days a week.


My 36 week appt. showed that I was dialated to a good 2 cm but she was still pretty high up. She put the date of October 17th on her calendar for an induction date if I hadn't had her by then. I also was tested for Strep B at this appt. and it came back negative.


My 37 week appt. showed that I was dialated 2-3 centimeters but she hadn't come down any. I had been having contractions on and off for 2-3 days, so I was really hoping that I had progressed a little further but no such luck.

My 38 week appt. didn't show any changes in dialation but she had dropped. Dr. Lewis stripped my membranes and told us that she would see us on the morning of the induction unless Hadley decided to come sooner.

I hoped that she would come on her own but the weekend came and went and before I knew it it was Monday morning. Let the induction begin:)

Birth story to come.

20 months!

You weigh around 25 lbs. and are 33 inches long. You are wearing mostly 2t clothing, 4 diaper, and a size 7.5 shoe.

You have recently picked up on pretend sneezing. Everytime someone sneezes you have to mimic them. It is rather funny.

You still love choo choos. Every morning as soon as you wake up you hand me the remote and say choo choo.

You want to do everything by yourself this month. You pick out your own pjs before bed, want to brush your own teeth, brush your hair, and even try to put your shirt and pants on by yourself.

You want to go outside every minute of everyday. While it has been warm we have been spending more time outdoors. You love to play with chalk and bubbles.

You tell us whenever you go poo or pee but you always say "I poo" for each. You even grab the wet wipes and diaper and bring them to us. Everyone says you should be ready to potty train but I've tried to put you on the potty and you are scared of it. You arch your back and cling to me as tight as you can.

You love to read books and will bring us every book out of your basket until they are all read.

You are still a picky eater and will eat one good meal a week (no exageration here), but you love milk and drink plenty each day.

Mommy and Daddy love you so much!

19 months!!

You wear a size 4 diaper, 2T tops and 18-24 month bottoms and a size 7.5 shoe.

You weigh 24.5 lbs. and you are 33 inches long and have 18 teeth.

You still don't sleep through the night but we are working on it. You usually sleep from 9:30 to 1:00 in your bed and then we move you to our bed and you sleep until around 7:30-8:00.

You were sleeping so good in your bed for naps and you would fall asleep within minutes of me laying you down, but you learned how to climb out. Once Daddy lowers your bed again we are going to try to get you back on that routine.

You are talking like crazy here lately. Your newest words are choo choo, truck, car, here you go, here it is, get down, bird, frog, duck, turtle, blue ball, outside, curious george, slide, and swing.

You love milk and probably drink about 5-6 sippy cups a day. You don't like juice and on occasion will drink water or tea.

You eat just like your uncle Isaac. You will eat one really good meal and then go 2 or 3 meals where you really don't eat anything.

Your favorite foods are bananas, grapes, nutrigrain bars, waffles or pancakes, hot dogs, corn, green beans, mashed potatoes, cottage cheese, mac and cheese, and pizza.

You have an obsession with choo choos now. There isn't a second that goes by that you aren't asking to watch choo choos, read choo choos, or play with choo choos. We are pretty sure that your 2nd birthday will be train themed.

You still love your pappy. The other day a doorbell rang on TV and you thought someone was at the door. When I told you it was on TV you came and sat on my lap and cried for pap pap.

You do a happy dance when you get excited and it is hilarious. You and Lydia dance to any song that comes on TV.

Your favorite books are Farm animals and Are you my mother.

You can show us your hair, nose, ears, eyes, teeth, tongue, belly button, toes, and fingers.

You know what sounds a dog, cat, lion, pig, sheep, and cow make.

You love to do anything that you see Mommy or Daddy doing. You love to pretend to blow dry and flatiron your hair. Load and unload the dishwasher and dryer. You even try to help put dishes in the sink. Although Daddy found a choo choo in the garbage disposal. And I've found several toys in the trash. You also love getting your tools out whenever Daddy is working on something and do everything he does.

You have become such a big helper. We love you big boy.

Christmas 2010

This Christmas took a lot of planning and last minute decisions to finally get everything setup inorder for us to be able to spend time with each side of our families.



Christmas Eve Eve night Josh and I exchanged our gifts to each other. We even let Jayden open a few gifts from us before bed. His favorite thing was his John Deere tractors.


Christmas Eve morning we headed to my Mom's house for krispy kreme donuts and presents. We had a great time. We all just went in our pjs.

Christmas Eve night we went to the nursing home with my Dad's side of the family to do our tradition of reading "the night before Christmas" & winding up little.


After the nursing home we went and had dinner over at my Dad's house and opened presents there.

Christmas morning we got up at 6 a.m. and let Jayden open his gifts from Santa. He got to play with his new toys for a few minutes and then it was time to head to Grammy and Pappy's house.


We got there around 8:30 and Jayden was sound asleep in the car. Once he finally got woke up he got to open his big gift from them a power wheels F-150. He loved it. He had to open the rest of his gifts while sitting in it. Mommy and Daddy were pretty spoiled too.

We left there around 11:30 and headed to Josh's grandparents. We opened gifts then ate lunch and then had a little Christmas tree scavenger hunt. Josh's grandma places several giftcards and cash in the tree and then whoever finds it gets it. You would think it would be easy but those suckers are hard to find. Josh and I each found a giftcard for the movies.


We left there around 1p.m. and then headed to my Grandparents. Unfortunately everyone had already left by the time we made it there, but we were able to spend sometime with my grandparents and Jayden opened the gift from them.

We finally made it back home around 4p.m. and let Jayden play for a bit before having to get ready to head to the Schulz family Christmas.

The day after Christmas I had to work but Josh and Jayden went back to Crawford for the Bullington family Christmas.

It was definitely a very hectic week, but being able to spend time with family makes it all worth it. Now we need about a week to figure out what we are going to do with all of Jaydens gifts. He is by far one spoiled little boy.

Stockings and tree skirt.

I had to do a quick post on our stockings and tree skirt. I ordered them from personalizationmall a few years ago and I absolutely love them. They are really good quality the only thing that worries me is that they won't carry the same pattern for all of our kids. If only I could magically tell the sex and names of our future children and go ahead and order them each a stocking. hehe

We put our tree up over the weekend. Jayden helped fluff the tree and put the ornaments on. He points at the tree and says "lights" about twenty times a day. He has to show the tree to everyone that comes over. We thought that we were going to have to buy a baby gate to go around the tree, but he has been so good with not touching it.
