Josh and I took off work so that we could go to the hospital and wait for the news about my Mom. The biopsy was supposed to last about an hour and then the doctor was going to come out and let us know what they had found. If it was cancer they were going to go ahead and remove the lower part of her lung which would take an additional three to four hours.
After waiting an hour and a half the doctor finally came in. The wait was the hardest part, so many things were going through my head. As soon as we saw the doctor walk in we all knew everything was going to be ok. He told us that it wasn't cancer and that it looked like it could possibly be hystoplasmosis or tuberculosis. Either one is curable so we were relieved. She had to spend two nights in the hospital and then got to go home.
It turned out to be hystoplasmosis and she just had to take an antibiotic for several months. Praise God!!
