My 1st Mother's Day!

Our landscapping is screaming "contractors special", so our plan was to redo it this spring. Unfortunately, it seemed that the plan was going to have to wait until next year. Josh hasn't gotten his last two quarterly bonuses and with me getting ready to be off for three months we decided it was best to wait.

Then Josh and his Mom suprised me with the tree that I have been wanting ever since we moved into the house for Mother's Day. They have a few of them over at the information trailor here in the subdivision and I fell in love with them. They remind me of the red headed character on fraggle rock (call me crazy).

Anyways, after he got me the tree we started looking at the landscaping again, and it seems that maybe we can work with what we already have. There are a few things that will have to go, but just moving some stuff around and adding some mulch will make it look 10X better. I'll have to take before and after pics. Until then here is a picture of my new tree.
